Ruchira Kamboj, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, reiterated the country's consistent support to the people of Palestine in their endeavour for statehood, peace, and prosperity ahead of the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” on 29 November. Kamboj acknowledged the “terror attacks in Israel” on 7 October as the immediate trigger and said India has a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism. She said that India welcomes the news of the release of hostages while also calling for the immediate and unconditional release of the remaining hostages.


Arab ambassadors and other diplomats gathered in Delhi on Tuesday ahead of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November. The meeting was led by the Palestinian Ambassador to India, Adnan Abu Al-Haija, and the Arab League's Ambassador to Delhi, Yusuf Mohamed Jameel. During their meeting at the Palestine embassy's Arafat-Indira Cultural Centre, the diplomats highlighted the commitment of Arab nations to the Palestinian cause. The Palestinian Ambassador hoped that India would call for a ceasefire as soon as possible before the temporary humanitarian truce in the Israel-Hamas conflict ends.


Forty-one construction workers, who had been trapped inside the collapsed Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi for 17 days, were rescued on late Tuesday. Nitin Gadkari, India’s minister of road transport and highways, said in a video posted on the social media platform X that he was “completely relieved and happy” that all of the workers had been successfully rescued.


Speaking during a study session of the Communist Party’s political bureau, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a stronger rule of law related to foreign affairs given “external risks and challenges” as China opens up to the outside world. Xi said that to protect its overseas citizens and interests, it was essential to deepen international cooperation on law enforcement, strengthen consular protection and assistance, and build a strong rule of law.


Iran’s deputy defence minister, Brigadier General Mahdi Farahi, on Tuesday, announced that plans for the delivery of Russian-made Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, Mil Mi-28 attack helicopters, and Yak-130 jet trainers to the country had been finalised.


On Tuesday, Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan invited Elon Musk to visit Gaza on Tuesday following the tech billionaire’s visit to Kfar Aza, the site of the Hamas massacre of Israeli civilians. “We invite him to visit Gaza to see the extent of the massacres and destruction committed against the people of Gaza, in compliance with the standards of objectivity and credibility,” Hamdan stated during a press conference.
