The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) evacuated 50 people from Okha, Gujarat, as a preventive measure due to Cyclone Biparjoy. ICF Ship Shoor and ICG Helicopter CG 858 were involved in the rescue operation in rough waters and high seas. Twenty-six crew members were evacuated by the ICG by the evening of 12 June, while the remaining 24 were brought to safety by the following day.


The Taliban has decided to ban music at weddings, the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice said on Sunday. The decision has been taken since the Taliban considers music to be against the teachings of Islam.

Addressing a meeting with Venezuelan students in Caracas on Tuesday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasised the rising significance of regional organisations in building a new multipolar world. Therefore, Raisi remarked in a live broadcast on Venezolana de Television, “we have joined the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and expressed our readiness to join BRICS.” The Iranian president also emphasised the necessity for the UN, particularly the UN Security Council, to undergo reform. “Today it is an organisation of governments, but it should become an organisation of the peoples,” Raisi stressed.

According to the US Central Command, a helicopter incident occurred in northeastern Syria on Sunday, injuring 22 American service members. The extent of their injuries varied, and ten were transported to advanced medical facilities beyond the jurisdiction of the Central Command. In an official statement, the US Central Command mentioned that the incident is currently being investigated, clarifying that no hostile activity was reported as the cause of the mishap.
