On Tuesday, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stated that the Ukraine war was not “a clash between Moscow and Kyiv,” but a “military confrontation between Russia and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), and above all the United States and Britain.”
“The Westerners’ plans are to continue to pull Russia apart, and eventually, just erase it from the political map of the world,” he added.
Patrushev, the most powerful Chekist in the Kremlin whose name isn't V. V. Putin, now says that Russia is at war not with Ukraine, rather with NATO, especially with the US & UK. Ukraine is merely the battlefield. Moscow's war is against NATO and the West.https://t.co/PUvTQqqmXr

NO PLACE FOR RUSSIA
In an interview with the Russian newspaper Argumenti i Fakti on Tuesday, Patrushev declared, “The West does not see any place for our country,” stressing that Russia “annoys a bunch of global rulers” because it has rich resources, a large territory, and an “intelligent and self-sufficient people who love their country, [and] its traditions and history.”
“Due to this, the Western establishment is trying to weaken our country, dismember it and eliminate the Russian language and the Russian world,” he underlined, noting that the break-up of the Soviet Union had further “emboldened” the West.
Patrushev pointed out that the West had “perfected the technology of undermining their rivals from the inside and fragmenting them into small states.” Patrushev gave examples of the British empire dismantling “empires producing dozens of countries,” and Yugoslavia, which “was chopped up into six” countries.
Additionally, he said that those who opposed the hegemony of the West “are labeled as ‘rogue countries’, ‘terrorist countries’ or states that pose a threat to national security.” However, he highlighted that the West did not realise that “they gradually remain in the minority, because the world has already grown tired of the strategy of force and threats they use.”
Another silly statement from Moscow. Security Council Sec Patrushev claims "We [#Russia] are not at war with #Ukraine," but it's a confrontation with #NATO.

Russian ego can't cope with losing just to Ukraine.
NATO supplies arms, but Ukrainians do the fighting and the winning.
US WITHDREW FROM AFGHANISTAN TO FOCUS ON UKRAINE
Patrushev, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s close ally, accused the US of abruptly withdrawing from Afghanistan to focus on Ukraine, which, according to him, “was making successful preparations for an offensive against Russia.”
To prove his point, Patrushev said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s remark, about how Washington was able to provide funds to Kyiv only after withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan, served as evidence.
“Besides, some of the equipment withdrawn from Afghanistan was relocated to Europe, mostly to Poland, which made it possible for the Europeans to militarise the Kyiv regime,” he added.
Patrushev further accused the US of creating terrorist organisations, like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and then, fighting against them; “While making a show of killing some terrorist leaders like Osama bin Laden, they trained and armed hundreds of others,” he emphasised.
US PLANS TO UNLEASH NEW WARS
Patrushev opined that the $1.7 trillion draft budget of the US’ defence budget was “the best evidence of Washington’s plans to unleash new wars at the expense of the well-being of its own citizens,” for which over half of the budget, meaning $850 billion, will be spent.
He stated that Washington aimed to spend at least another $45 billion to sustain the Ukraine war.
CORPORATIONS HOLD TRUE POWER IN THE US
On the one hand, Patrushev asserted that “the American state is just a shell for a conglomerate of huge corporations that rule the country and try to dominate the world,” noting that “Western politicians do not have the power and possibilities to change life in their states for the better, because they have not been independent figures for a long time.”
On the other hand, he underlined that, to ensure Russia achieves economic sovereignty and financial independence, along with strong armed forces, Russian business and private capital must be more “nationally oriented.”
“The younger generation should be inspired by the ideas of creative work for the benefit of our Motherland, and not sit in the offices of Western corporations,” Patrushev remarked.
KREMLIN AGREES WITH PATRUSHEV
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also agreed with Patrushev on NATO and the US being “indirectly involved” in the Ukraine conflict.
“They have de facto become an indirect party to the conflict by flooding Ukraine with weapons, technologies and intelligence. So, their involvement in the conflict is clear,” he added.
Peskov argued that “hardly anything can push NATO and the US to ramp up supplies,” seeing as they continue to provide military support, including “more complicated and powerful weapons, while the amount and range of weapons and ammunition are also increasing.”
