Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for “collective wisdom and concerted efforts” to deal with the complexities of the Indo-Pacific. Speaking at the 13th Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs’ Conference (IPACC) in New Delhi on Tuesday, Singh advocated for countries to tap the full potential of the Indo-Pacific in consonance with the Indian concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family).


The speaker of Canada’s House of Commons lower chamber, Anthony Rota, announced his decision to quit on Tuesday, just days after openly praising a former Nazi soldier in Parliament, in an incident that Russia said helped legitimise its war on Ukraine. Kim Song, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of North Korea to the UN, addressed the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, saying that the “West-led irrational structure” of the UN Security Council must be reformed to prevent the “high-handedness and arbitrariness” of powers within the organisation, including the US. Song suggested that the representation of developing countries, which make up the absolute majority of the UN, must be expanded and strengthened to resolve this issue.
